Honda Efforts to Green up Operations and Products are Paying Off

Back in 1992, Japanese automaker Honda issued the "Honda Environmental Statement", outlining the company's dedication to guiding its proactive efforts to preserve the environment. It reads, "As a responsible member of society whose task lies in the preservation of the global environment, the company will make every effort to contribute to human health and the preservation of the global environment in each phase of its corporate activity. Only in this way will we be able to promote a successful future not only for our company, but the entire world."1 Among the many promises the automaker made were to ramp up recycling and conservation of materials - from product conception to production; minimize waste; dispose of unrecyclable materials in a sound, low-impact manner; work to preserve human health; and maintain awareness of the impact the company's actions have on different regions.

To prove their sincerity, Honda started releasing annual environmental reports, which survey the impact their operations have across the North American Region. On January 23 2012, Honda released their latest findings from 2011. Rockingham Honda is happy to say, Honda's painstaking attention to detail is paying off.
