Honda Ends Civic in Japan

Honda Motors said on Tuesday it will stop selling its Civic in Japan. They stated reasons relating to demand for passenger sedans in its home market being on the decline. "Honda, Japan's third largest vehicle manufacturer by sales volume, will end domestic production of the Civic hybrid for the Japanese market in December. It stopped domestic production of the gasoline engine version for the home market in August," said the Wall Street Journal.

Honda Fit EV Concept

Honda has premiered the new Fit EV concept at the Los Angeles auto show, a model headed for production, which will be introduced in 2012.

Details on the Fit EV are limited, and no power figures were given, though Honda says is that the all-electric version of the 5-door compact hatch "is powered by a lithium-ion battery fueling a coaxial high-density electric motor derived from the FCX Clarity fuel cell electric car."
